Patricia A. Mathews, RN, MA, FHCEPat is President of Mathews Associates, a training and organizational development practice dedicated to helping individuals build productive partnerships, teams and workplaces. She also provides consulting services for the Maryland Healthcare Education Institute. She worked with the Einstein Consulting Group for eight years, specializing in customer service, quality and management development. Until July 1989, she was Director of Health Education at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, N.J. She has had over 29 years of health care experience including clinical, management and educational roles in acute care, outpatient and educational settings. Pat is a registered nurse and holds a Master's degree in Health Administration. She also received a certificate in coaching from Georgetown University.
Pat served as National President of the American Society for Healthcare Education and Training (ASHET) in 1989. She has served as the Region 2 representative to the ASHET Board, Chairman of the National Patient Education Advisory Committee of the American Hospital Association and as President of the New Jersey Chapter of ASHET. In 1990, she was named a Fellow of HealthCare Education by ASHET. Pat received ASHET's Distinguished Service Award in 1985, ASHET's President's Award in 1991, the H. Walton Connelly Mentorship Award in 1993, and was named an Outstanding Young Woman of America in 1984. She has served as faculty at numerous national and regional conferences and has worked with healthcare and human services organizations nationwide.
